Many people become annoyed at the thought of recycling old tires. Typically it costs money to bring old tires to a recycling facility and eats up precious time from our busy lives. In 2009, the U.S. generated 291.8 million scrap tires, according to the Rubber Manufactures Association. With such large numbers, it should be clear how important recycling tires is. At Osseo Automotive we are here to share, recycling tires doesn’t have to be a pain. It can actually be fun and create opportunities to spend more time with your family. Get your old tires ready, below are original ways to recycle tires and maybe even ways to have a little fun.
Tire SwingMake a tire swing
Tire swings are fairly easy to make. All you need is a tire, rope and a good tree. You can make a tire swing for your family, a local park or even sell them to families in your neighborhood.

Make a tire planters
Paint your old tires and use them as decorative planters or sell them at a local craft show. This is a great activity to get your kids involved with.

Sell tires to a tire retreading company
Believe it or not, there are companies that will actually give you money for your old tires. Tire retreading companies are out there and many times pay cash for used tires. If you can find large truck tire casings you can receive even more money than regular tires.

Donate your tires to companies like Flat Tire Decor
